NORWICH – Several organizations and businesses in the City of Norwich have joined together to help promote literacy with an event headed by Improve Norwich Now (I.N.N.) named, “One Community, One Book.”

The event will begin with local author Suzanne Bloom reading her children’s book “I Just Like You,” each half hour from 9 to 11:30 a.m., on November 30, at the Guernsey Memorial Library.

I.N.N. Co-Founder Jen Westervelt said after hearing the children’s book read aloud, kids will be able to do crafts, listen to live music by Two for Tomorrow, and go on a scavenger hunt.

“We’re excited to partner with local businesses on Small Business Saturday to help promote literacy to our youth,” said Westervelt. “So far three businesses in Norwich have chosen to host a clue, and we still have spots open for several more.”

She said for those who join the event later than the starting time, the author will begin reading her book every half hour once the event begins.
