NORWICH – Candidates for the upcoming election in North Norwich met with potential voters at Taylor’s Country House in the Town of North Norwich last week, and said they hope to inspire more people to get out and vote in the November election.

Event organizer and Town of North Norwich Supervisor candidate Timothy Brown said all five individuals running for positions in North Norwich in the November election were present at the event.

Candidates include Timothy C. Brown, who are running for town supervisor; Loretta L. Smith for town clerk; Joseph F. Santiago Jr. and Elton J. Proskine for town council, and Joseph M. Eldred for superintendent of highways.

“The get-together showed what the town should be, just people talking to people spending time together as a community,” said Brown. “We had just over 40 people that attended the event. A lot of the people that were there were people we’ve met by knocking on doors.”
