                    NORWICH – Harry William Smith, Jr. was an ardent community supporter and owned Smith Ford in Norwich from 1949 to 2004.
He raced – winning the Formula Junior national with Rev-Em Racing, was chairman and founder of McLaren Engines, Inc. (Livonia, Mich.), and founding member of CART (Championship Automobile Racing Teams).
