Tornado swimmers set fast times in non-league win over Greene on senior night The Norwich Girls Swim team honored the five seniors on the 2019 roster during the non-league meet against Greene Tuesday evening. NORWICH – The Norwich Girls swim team improved to a perfect 5-0 on the season after defeating Greene in a non-league meet at home on Tuesday night 90-61.

Halfway through the event, the Purple Tornado head coach Saundra Gantt recognized her five seniors who are set to graduate in June of 2020. Emerson Burton, Riley Revoir, Margie Winter, Jazmine Potter and Hailey Shattuck have been coached by Gantt for their years on the varsity program and were joined with their parents and family members during the special ceremony.

Prior to the senior recognition, the Lady Tornado and the Greene Trojans swam a total of four events with Norwich coming in first in all but the Lady Trojans placing second in half of the races.

The 200 yard medley relay team of Ashley Coombs, Kaitlyn Blaisure, Tanner Olds and Abigail Natoli placed first in the event that started off the meet with a time of 2:21.56. In the same event, Greene’s Victoria Milk, Emily Milk, Madison Pavlovich and Sophia Hanselman placed third.

Norwich took a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 individual medley relay with Abby Hansen securing first with her time of 2:30.49. Aurora Strauch and Olds came in behind her while Amy Bentley and Ella Prindle of Greene grabbed team points of the event, placing fourth and fifth for the visiting team.
