OXFORD – Extending the win streak to three, the Oxford Girls Soccer team topped Midstate Athletic Conference foe and Route 12 neighbor Greene 2-0 on Thursday.

In the rainy, sloppy conditions Thursday afternoon, the Lady Blackhawks needed no time at all to get going. With just 2:12 off the clock in the first half, Hailey Fleury took a pass from Emily Barrows and quickly fired a ball to Kaylin Tefft. Tefft then rifled a ball into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.

Tefft delivered an assist to Sylvia Yates in the early minutes of the second half for the insurance goal.

The Blackhawks took a total of 15 shots in the contest, outshooting the Lady Trojans by nine attempts. Keeping the game close despite the constant offensive pressure by Oxford was Greene’s keeper Katelyn Pratt as she ended the afternoon with 13 saves, displaying a strong performance in between the posts.
