NORWICH - The City of Norwich Police Department and Chenango County Sheriff's Office were led on high speed chase along State Highway 12 Friday morning and are still seeking the suspect after he fled into a wooded area.

Police said they had identified the suspect but were not releasing his name.

Chenango County Sheriff Ernest R. Cutting said the male suspect was wanted on a warrant for a felony.

“We'll track him down, it's just a matter of time,” said Cutting.

The sheriff said he was confident police had identified the suspect and deputies have seized the vehicle.
