NORWICH – Once again winning a meet in the 2019 season, Norwich Purple Tornado Swim team is undefeated as they topped Chenango Forks 86-73 in the Tornado pool Friday, September 27.

Norwich touched the wall first in eight of the 12 events for the meet and scored several team points with second, third and fourth place finishes. Saundra Gantt switched up the events the girls are used to swimming, providing several girls opportunities to try something out of their norm and it still played out in the Purple Tornado’s favor.

Both of Norwich’s 200 yard medley relay teams placed 1-2, starting off the race in a good way for the home team.

Then, Angela Carlson – who usually races in the 50 yard freestyle – took on the 200 yard event and placed first with a time of 2:18.58. Norwich also saw Aurora Shtrauch finish third and Ashley Coombs come in fifth for the event.
