Three Indicted By A Chenango County Grand Jury

CHENANGO – Three people were indicted by a grand jury last week including someone who allegedly struck a victim multiple times with a rod, an individual who police said possessed methamphetamine with the intent to sell it with a child nearby, and another person who is accused of stealing approximately $200,000 worth of aluminum.

Benjamin R. Bishop, 35, of Otselic was indicted on aggravated criminal contempt, a class D felony, and second-degree assault, a class D felony, after allegedly violating an order of protection issued by the Chenango County Family Court.

According to the indictment, at 9:30 p.m., on August 16, in the Town of Otselic Bishop violated an order of protection, and caused lacerations to the victim's forehead by striking the victim with a, “12-inch metal or wooden rod.”
