NEW BERLIN – The Storm’s Dylan Nichols and Devon Fairchild both recorded hat tricks in Tuesday’s 7-2 win over Midstate Athletic Conference opponent Afton/Harpursville Crimson Knights.

Unadilla Valley had a strong start to the game as Fairchild received a cross from Nichols and tapped the ball past his defender before placing a shot by the Knights’ keeper Riley Livermore.

Fairchild added another goal less than ten minutes later, this time off an assist from colleague Geordan Keach, giving UV a 2-0 lead.

Fairchild wasn’t done.

The third Storm goal of the first half was scored by Skot Lindholm, Fairchild’s head delivered the assist after teammate Cameron Osborne took a corner kick and sent the ball inside the box.

Unadilla Valley’s head coach Ryan Houck noted his team’s defense had a bit of a lull, which allowed Afton/Harpursville’s Brayden Baciuska – an eighth-grader listed on the roster – found the back of the net off a missed clear from the Crimson Knights’ corner kick.
