BINGHAMTON – The Lady Tornado picked up a much needed league win over conference foe Seton Catholic Thursday afternoon, taking the 4-1 victory on the Saints pitch.

Norwich erased a 1-0 lead with junior forward Sydney Coggins first of three goals for the game with 1:17 left in the first half. Coggins then went on to add two more, recorded her third hat trick of the season and 14th goal of the season as the Tornado earned their third straight win.

After 31 and a half minutes of scoreless soccer, Seton’s Reese Vaughn gave her team the early lead.

“We played what I like to call boom ball in the first half,” said Tornado head coach Doug Coggins. “We had bad fundamentals in the first 45 [minutes] but played much better in the second half.”

10 minutes after the halftime break, Sydney Coggins scored her second, blasting it past the Seton keeper to give Norwich their first advantage for the game.

With the Tornado controlling the possession in the offensive half of the field for most of the second half, the Norwich junior forward settled a ball from Mackenzie Hess and found the back of the net for the third time.
