Trojans start 2019 campaign with 6-1 win over Storm

GREENE – The Greene Trojans captured a victory in their 2019 season opener, defeating recently crowned Sherburne-Earlville Tournament champion and host Unadilla Valley Storm 6-1 Tuesday afternoon.

The Trojans’ midfielder Alec Frair started scoring for the visiting team, netting two unassisted goals in the first 10 minutes of the game.

The Storm rallied back. Behind a push from UV’s back line, Dylan Nichols converted his shot opportunity after the nicely timed pass from teammate Josh Meade to cut Greene’s lead down to a goal before heading into the halftime intermission.

After 15 minutes of scoreless back and forth play to start the second half, the Trojans turned up the heat, scoring four goals over the next seven minutes.
