NORWICH – Chenango County Historical Society's "Third Thursday" seasonal programming will return in May with an afternoon of celebrations and a ribbon cutting to unveil the museum's newly renovated hallway lobby and community gallery spaces.
The celebration will take place at 4:30 p.m. on May 16 at the museum. Refreshments will be served courtesy of NBT Bank.
"We are very pleased with the transformation of our welcome area and main gallery," said Chenango County Historical Society Board Member John Antonowicz. "These improvements were made possible thanks to the generosity of the RC Smith Foundation and Golden Artist Colors, and we are extremely grateful for their support."
As part of the festivities, the public will have the opportunity to meet the historical society's new Executive Director Jessica Moquin, who joined on January 28.
"The Chenango County Historical Society is a true community treasure, supported by hundreds of generous volunteers and community organizations," Moquin said. "The recent investment in our mission by the RC Smith Foundation and Golden Artist Colors is inspiring. I am extremely fortunate to be working with others who share this dedication to our community."
