MARATHON – Greene’s Logan Kennedy and Nick Shoemaker both came away with four RBIs, finishing the day 3-for-5 at the plate in the Trojans’ 13-7 road win over Marathon Tuesday.

Greene racked up a total of 14 hits in their rout over the home team and recorded 13 RBIs as a team in the process.

The Trojans got things started in the first trip to the plate, scoring five runs in the inning. Grayson Flanagan’s lead-off single was later rewarded as he scored on Shoemaker’s double to right field.

Kennedy’s first at-bat resulted in a fly ball single to nearly the same place, sending Owen Howell and Shoemaker in to score for two of his four RBIs.

Greene added two more runs in the frame when Trenton Rapp drilled a hard ground ball to the shortstop and Kennedy already had a good jump towards home. Kolby Finch scored as the throw to the catcher wasn’t clean, passing to the backstop.

Threatening to score again later in the inning, Marathon’s Caleb Ticknor was able to get out of the bases loaded trouble with his third strikeout of the first.

Ticknor helped his own cause on the mound, driving in one run with his ground ball to right field for Marathon but the Trojans were able to get out of the inning with no other damage done.
