DEC Crimes Unit Looks At City Of Norwich Park

NORWICH – New York State Department of Environmental Conservation officials confirmed Thursday there is an open investigation in the City of Norwich.

On Friday the DEC Public Information Office released a statement:"DEC Environmental Conservation police officers and investigators with the Bureau of Environmental Crimes Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at Rotary Park in the City of Norwich Wednesday. The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time."

Officials declined to confirm any details or what the investigation was about.

The DEC would not say if the investigation was related to the city’s former acting Department of Public Works Superintendent. He was charged by the DEC in early 2018 in a separate case that is still pending in Town of Sherburne Court.
