DEPOSIT – Oxford’s Jason Davis needed eight points to reach 1,000 for his career in a Blackhawks uniform entering Monday’s game against the Eagles of Deposit/Hancock. It took all of three minutes and eight of Oxford’s first 10 points before he reached his mark as he drained his second 3-pointer of the game.

The Blackhawks then rolled to a 75-36 Midstate Athletic Conference win over the Eagles on the road behind Davis’ game-high 28 points and teammate Brad Beckwith’s 22 in the contest.

The two combined for 20 of Oxford’s 24 points in the first quarter as the guests took a 24-18 lead.

With balanced scoring between four players in the second, Oxford put up 17 to extend their lead. Defensively, the Blackhawks limited Deposit/Hancock to three points in the stanza to build a 14 point margin at the break.
