Six Face Indictments On Felony Charges

NORWICH – Six individuals were indicted this month, with allegations for various felony crimes including criminal possession of a weapon, assault, and strangulation.

• Corey A. Weidman, 34, of Norwich was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A felony, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony.

• Cheyanne D. Moore, 22, of Norwich was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A felony, and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony.

According to Chenango County Sheriff Ernest Cutting, after executing a search warrant on Weidman’s and Moore’s apartment at 93 East Main Street in Norwich police discovered approximately 1.8 kilograms (approximately four pounds) of crystal methamphetamine, 3 ounces of cocaine, 4.5 ounces of marihuana and other drugs including, LSD, MDMA, and Suboxone strips. Police also recovered approximately $35,625 in cash, a loaded handgun, and seized a 2004 Honda Civic.

• Randall C. Harmon, 37, of Sherburne was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, a class D felony, second-degree strangulation, a class D felony, aggravated criminal contempt, a class D felony, two counts of first-degree criminal contempt, a class E felony, and third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor.
