SIDNEY – Leading by seven as the two teams went into the locker room at halftime, Unadilla Valley was aware of what could happen against the Warriors of Sidney. However, the Storm’s strong defensive effort in the second half allowed just seven points to be scored by Sidney as UV claimed their sixth Midstate Athletic Conference win of the season, 46-28.

After a 14-9 first quarter score, the Storm’s Andrew Jackson put up all 14 of his team’s points in the second to go into the break with the lead.

In the third, Unadilla Valley went on a 10-2 run to extend their advantage to 15 as the two teams entered the final eight minutes of play.

Jackson ended the night with 23 points, which included four 3-pointers. He recorded a double-double in the contest by grabbing 10 boards off the glass.

UV’s Levi Rifanburg chipped in eight points and Dylan Nichols added seven points while Wyatt Grey pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds.

With their stingy defense, the Storm held all Sidney players to single digits in the scoring column. Ryan Harris led the Warriors with eight points and teammate Mike Gravelin tallied seven.
