DEPOSIT – Deposit/Hancock held a 52-50 lead with six seconds remaining. Greene’s Nate Erickson – The Trojans’ quarterback on the gridiron in the fall – tossed a long pass to teammate Evan Walters, who then finished the layup before the buzzer to tie the game and force overtime.

In the extra minutes of basketball, Greene outscored the Eagles 11-5 to come away with the Midstate Athletic Confernce 63-57 win Friday night.

Trojans’ head coach Chris Rice said that Deposit/Hancock shot the lights out against his team in the early part of the contest, barely missing. “(The Eagles) must have shot somewhere near 80-percent from the floor,” said Rice. “They couldn’t miss.”

Deposit/Hancock opened the game with a 23 point first quarter behind Cole Russell’s 11 points and their four 3-pointers as a team.

As the two teams matched point for point in the second, Greene went into the intermission trailing by five points. Out of the break is where Rice said his team picked up their intensity and played better.

The Eagles once again out scored the Trojans in the third, extending their lead to seven as the two went into the final eight minutes of play. However, that is where the road team responded.
