NEW BERLIN – The Unadilla Valley Storm put together two 20-plus point quarters in the first half of play as they cruised to a 77-55 Midstate Athletic Conference (MAC) win over Unatego Thursday night.

Andrew Jackson and Levi Rifanburg each scored 21 points for UV in the win despite neither stepping foot on the court in the fourth quarter.

Unadilla Valley received points from six different players in the first quarter as they put up 24 on the scoreboard. At the defensive end of the floor, Unadilla Valley held their opponent to just seven points in the stanza.

The second quarter saw Unatego’s Shea Barber find a rhythm as he poured in 15 of the team’s 17 scored in the eight minutes of play. However, the Spartans couldn’t find a way to stop Rifanburg, who had eight points in the quarter, or Cameron Osborne, who put up five in the stretch before the intermission. Their teammate, Jackson, added six.

In the second half, the two team nearly matched point for point but it was the Storm who held the slight advantage.

Unatego’s Michael Young hit three 3-pointers in the fourth to help his team outscore UV 16-15 in the final stretch. Unadilla Valley was paced by Caleb Parker’s eight points. Parker finished with 10 in the game while Osborne ended the night with seven.
