Blackhawks overcome the Storm in a 5 game battle

OXFORD – The Oxford Lady Blackhawks and the Unadilla Valley Lady Storm needed all five games to determine the winner of their MAC league match Wednesday night before Oxford came out on top as they took the final three games, improving to 7-1 on the season.

Unadilla Valley took the first two games, winning 25-19 and 25-18. The Storm just needed to win the third game to come out with the match victory on the road. The Blackhawks had other plans.

In the third game, Oxford came out firing. The Blackhawks took the set with a score of 25-14.

Once again, UV could have put the host team away by winning the fourth game. As the score was closer than the previous set, Oxford held on for the game four win by a score of 25-21 to force a fifth and final game.

Both teams battled in the final game but it was the Blackhawks who overcame the two game deficit to win the set 25-19, ultimately winning the match.
