NORWICH – The Purple Tornado continued to play well at their home course as four of the top five golfers shot in the 40’s to defeat Oneonta, 235-292.

Oneonta’s Evan Sitts shot an impressive match-low 33, which is a 3-under-par score on the front nine of the Canasawacta Country Club course, to win the medalist award.

Senior Alex Gage led the way for home Tornado, shooting a 41. Freshman John Ryan finished just three strokes behind his teammate with a 44.

Fellow senior colleague Griffin Clipston turned in a 45 while Kai Scheer ended the day with a 47. Max Marson finished Norwich’s top five with a 58 for the day.

Norwich took on Chenango Forks late last week at Genegantslet. The tough Blue Devils topped the Tornado by just seven strokes for a final score of 202-209. Two of Forks’ top five for the day shot in the 30s.

The scores were led by Ryan Locke’s 1-over-par 36 while teammate Emily Gresham turned in a scorecard with a 39 on it.
