Lady Crimson Knights Start Season With Back-to-back Wins

AFTON – The Crimson Knights’ Madison Baciuska scored four goals while teammate Jannelle Volk had two goals and an assist on Afton’s way to an 8-0 win over Sidney on Tuesday afternoon.

The Crimson Knights’ Calixta Terrell scored the first goal of her varsity career during the contest while teammate Makaela Mills also scored one goal. Cassidy Hoyt and McKenzie Hoyt both recorded two assists and Casey East added one to give Afton six assists on their eight goals scored.

Sidney’s keeper Makayla Phillips made 18 saves for Sidney.

In each half of the game, the Crimson Knights scored four goals on their way to their second win of the season.

On Friday, Afton traveled to Walton and returned home with a 5-0 victory.

McKenzie Hoyt led the Crimson Knight offense, scoring two goals. Baciuska and Mills added a goal each with teammate Hannah Tracy tacking on her first of the season.

Mills and East recorded one assist each along with Sam Schoelier. Jannelle Volk dished two passes that her colleagues scored on.
