The National Weather Service in Binghamton issued a snow squall warning for the majority of central and northern Chenango County Friday morning in effect through 10:45 a.m. A flash freeze took place late Thursday evening as temperatures plunged into the teens after being nearly 50 degrees Thursday, leading to slick road conditions for Friday morning commuters.
