Norwich High School Junior raises money for CSPCA and cancer

NORWICH – Norwich native and High School Junior Brenna Baker is no stranger to volunteering, donating time and money to the Chenango SPCA, organizing a bike ride for cancer, and participating in many school programs.

Baker, has been making dog treats and donating all the proceeds to the CSPCA since 2012 through her business, Baker’s Doggone Delicious Treats. What started as a small operation has grown into something much bigger, Baker’s business is a staple at Saturdays in the Park, The Blues Fest, and many seasonal events and fundraisers.

“I’ve always loved dogs, they’re my favorite animal, so I wanted to give money to [The CSPCA] because I knew they needed help with medical purposes,” Baker said. She was able to adopt her first dog from the CSPCA in 2013 and a second one in 2014. “Since then I’ve done more than I ever have because they really mean a lot to me.”

The treats are made from all natural ingredients like peanut butter, flour, milk and as Baker says, her love.

Baker runs Baker’s Doggone Delicious Treats by herself, doing everything from buying the ingredients and baking the treats to selling them and donating the money.
