DEPOSIT – Despite Deposit-Hancock’s early 14-0 lead, the Greene Trojans gained their composure and dominated the second half on their way to 21-14 upset in the contest.

Coy Austin capped off an unanswered 14 points for the Trojans with an eight yard score and the win Friday night.

His touchdown was the result of Greene’s Mitchell Walter kicking the ball onside following a Trojans touchdown in the third and recovering the ball himself, setting up the drive for Austin’s game winning TD.

The Eagles struck first, opening with a Jackson Miller 12 yard run. The extra point attempt was no good, setting up the 6-0 score in favor of Deposit-Hancock after one quarter.

Greene answered in the second quarter with Nate Erickson punching it from two yards out. Walter’s extra point try was successful, giving the Trojans a one point lead. But only temporarily.

Miller tacked on his second score of the contest with a seven yard run. This time, the Eagles coaching staff decided to go for two and it paid off as Miller ran it in. Taking the lead back, Deposit-Hancock went into the intermission with a 14-7 score.
