WAVERLY – For the first time in over a decade, the Norwich girls soccer program reached the Section IV playoff tournament. And head coach Matt Wilson couldn’t be prouder. However, the Lady Wolverines spoiled the Tornado playoff bid and ended their season with a 3-0 win.

The host Wolverines shot 11 times during the contest, keeping Norwich goalie Saige Benedict on her toes for most of the match.

Elle Nittinger tacked on the first goal for Waverly just over five minutes into the contest. Her teammate, Kayla Kromelbein added the second 27-seconds later.

Going into the half down 2-0, Norwich’s season was against the ropes.

The Lady Tornado saw their chances of pulling off the upset dwindle when Nittinger tacked on the third and final goal in the second half.

Hannah Klockowski attempted the only shot Norwich was able to get off but the Wovlerines keeper, Zoe Mennig stopped it, shutting the Tornado out.
