NYSP Troop C celebrates 100 years with free open house

SIDNEY – In celebrating its 100th year of service, New York State Police are inviting the public to attend a free Centennial Open House at Troop C Headquarters in Sidney this Saturday, October 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"Our hope is to be able to show the public what we do, and what we've done historically," said New York State Police Public Information Officer Nathan Riegal.

The free event will feature helicopter and rescue demonstrations, K-9 demonstrations, firearms displays, the underwater (scuba) recovery team, Special Operations Unit, NYSP mounted unit, historical displays, hands-on patrol car displays, vintage troop cars and motorcycles, tours of Troop C Headquarters, McGruff the crime dog, and historical films.
