NORWICH – Norwich’s tennis squad happily invited the Chenango Valley Warriors back for a rematch, with Norwich taking the win again at 4-3.

“We knew going in it was going to be a match we had to play hard to win. We beat them the first time 4-3 and they proved to be tough the second time around,” said Norwich head coach John Stewart.

The fourth and match point of the night came from Olivia Granquist, when she defeated Katerina Retzlaff at 6-3 and 6-2.

“Great match for Olivia, she lost the first time they played, but tonight she was on, played solid tennis from the baseline. It was nice to see her step up and the get the win for herself and the team,” said coach Stewart.

Top single player for Norwich, Caroline Stewart, snagged a win over Kelly Smith at 6-1 and 6-3 – Stewart and Olivia were the lone wins in the singles side of play.
