Lady Blackhawks Blanked By Walton In Even Match

OXFORD – Despite the score being one sided, Oxford played an even match again the visiting Warriors of Walton on Tuesday, September 12.

“We have out moments of scoring opportunities,” said Blackhawks Head Coach Kathleen Cragle. “We had several shots just missing.”

Oxford attempted six shots during the contest, four found the hand of Walton's keeper Shaelie McLenon as she came up with some big saves.

Walton found the goal one time each half to record a final of 2-0. Madison LeBarge and Olivia Hardy each netted a goal for the Lady Warriors while teammate Olivia Haven recorded an assist.

Oxford's goalie, Lexi Kohlhepp would snag eight saves for the game as Walton took 11 shots.

Oxford will head to Greene as one of the four teams participating in the Trojans Soccer Tournament Thursday, September 14. The Blackhawks will face the host Trojans in the later game scheduled at 7 p.m. Both will continue to play on Saturday in the consolation or championship game. Times and opponents will be determined by results on Thursday.
