Norwich Volleyball Opens 2017 Season With Non-league Win

BINGHAMTON – The lady Blue Devils of Chenango Forks will have some rebuilding to do, after the Norwich Purple Tornado volleyball team came to town on Tuesday evening for a dominating 3-0 victory.

LeahAnne Humphrey stole the show for the lady Tornado on Tuesday, September 12, working her way to four aces, two kills, one dig and an astounding 12 assists in the win.

Norwich stormed onto the court for a quick first set win at 25-11.

Following the opening set Chenango Forks was able to regain some composure to put together two better played sets – however, Norwich was still able to take the win at 25-20 and 25-23, respectively for set two and three.

“We had a good first game, the girls were playing their game. Had some back-tip points and good pushes,” said Norwich head coach Shelly Alger. “We made some changes in the next two games and we played okay.”
