Woman Accused Of Stealing $10k From Fire Department

COVENTRY – A woman stands accused of stealing approximately $10,000.

According to the Chenango County Sheriff Ernest R. Cutting Jr., Julie Mae Clark, 56, was arrested for grand larceny in the third degree.

It's alleged that Clark, while working as the Coventry Fire Department Treasurer did steal approximately $10,000 from April 2015 to January 2017.

This information stems from an investigation by the Sheriff's Office.

It was reported that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.

A call was made by The Evening Sun to the Corrections Division of the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, where it was said that Clark is not in custody at the Chenango County Correctional Facility.

Per the release from the CCSO, Clark is to reappear in the Town of Coventry Court at a later date to answer to the charges against her.

Clark is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
