NEW BERLIN – The Unadilla Valley boys basketball team won in a on-sided matchup over the Deposit Lumberjacks this past Friday, by a score of 77-56.

The tough fought game featured two similarly styled teams going at each other, the difference being shots landing for Unadilla Valley where the Lumberjacks seemed rattled as shots continued to fall short throughout.

Leading Uv to their home victory this past Friday, Jan. 13, was Andrew Jackson who attacked the basket for a game high 24 points, while also recording 10 rebounds with seven assists and six steals.

The offensive performance for UV did not end at Jackson, as UV enjoyed three other athletes who scored double digits in the game – Dante Dye with 15 points, Geoff Keach with 10 points, and Mason Mikalunas with 13 points.

The high scoring affair in New Berlin saw both squads find the net for four periods of double digit scoring. Taking the early lead after just one period was the Storm who led by a score of 21-17. The close score after on gave way to a larger differential in points heading into the half as UV was able to put up another stellar period grabbing 24 points en route to their halftime lead of 45-27.

During the third period, the Storm would go on a run finding the net for 11 straight points midway in the period where UV climbed from a 52-38 lead to a 63-38 lead.
