WALTON – The Unadilla Valley Lady Storm varsity basketball team has skidded to yet another loss on the season when they traveled to Walton for their latest game.

Walton used a slow first period from UV, to springboard them to victory. Unadilla Valley was allowed to only find the net twice – coupled with two extra-points made – as the Warriors of Walton snagged a good 12-6 lead after just one.

Despite fighting through the slow start to finish the half strong, UV fell back on their heels for the start of the third period – where any momentum built to that point diminished as UV only managed four points in the third.

“We had a hard time scoring. Could not get anything going from the foul line either,” said Unadilla Valley head coach Brandi Whitbeck. “Fell asleep on the shooters all night.”

Unadilla Valley once again recovered to post a strong fourth period of play – 11 points – but it would ultimately be too little too late for the lady Storm as they fell on Jan. 11, to Walton by a score of 43-32.

Up next for Unadilla Valley, weather permitting they will be heading to Chenango Forks for their next game on Jan. 12, at 7:15 p.m.
