Windsor spoils senior night after early Norwich lead

NORWICH – The final regular season home match of the season was barred with the ever daunting Windsor Black Knights, who handed the Tornado a loss on their home court at 3-1.

Prior to the matchup Norwich recognized their four graduating seniors: Meghan Komendarek, Kalie Fleming, Kara Evans, and Madison Shackelton.

Norwich head coach Shelly Alger opined that she believes with that win, Windsor claimed the division title, before saying, “We had problems passing the ball tonight. Their (Windsor) attack is super great. Very athletic team from Windsor.”

Despite a misleading 3-1 score, Norwich actually came out looking pretty great from the get-go, taking the first set on their senior night at 25-20. However, the five point win to open up the match shortly eroded away when Norwich dropped their next set at score of 25-9. At a 1-1 score it was an uphill battle for Norwich, however, it was a battle as the scores read 25-22 in the third set and 25-19 in the fourth – both Windsor wins.
