SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY – The Norwich girls’ varsity swim team brought home its first win of the season following a loss to Owego just days prior.

With a total score of 105 over Susquehanna Valley’s 67, Norwich dominated the events in the pool.

“We mixed things up a little bit hoping to get some good races and get times on all the girls in different events,” said Lady Tornado swim coach Saundra Gantt. “This line up gave the younger swimmers an opportunity to step up.”

The Norwich ladies took home first in the 200 yard medley relay, 200 yard freestyle, 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard freestyle, 500 yard freestyle, 100 yard backstroke, 100 yard breaststroke, and 400 yard freestyle relay.

Sus. Valley led in the 200 yard individual medley, one meter diving, 100 yard butterfly and the 200 yard freestyle relay.

Norwich’s Margie Winter brought home wins in the 200 yard freestyle with a finals time of 2:15:68 and the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:01.58.
