NORWICH - A Chenango County grand jury met earlier last week to determine indictments for the month of August, 2016 and subsequently decided that there was enough evidence against four individuals to charge them with at least one felony level crime.
• Charles E. Miller, 37, of Afton, was indicted on nine felony counts. Miller was charged with nine separate counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.
The first count of the indictment alleges that Miller, on or about June 13, 2016, at a residence on Jennings Lane, in the Town of Afton, did allegedly possess a video of a sexual performance by a child.
Counts two through nine of the indictment allege that Miller allegedly possessed images of sexual performances by children.
• Koty C. Head, 27, of Norwich, was indicted on one felony charge, as well as one misdemeanor charge. Head was charged with one count of burglary in the third degree, a class D felony; and one count of petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.
The felony count of the indictment alleges that Head, on or about July 29, 2016, at a residence on Delaware Square, in the City of Norwich, while acting in concert with others, did knowingly enter and remain unlawfully in a building with intent to commit a crime. Thereafter, the defendant, while acting in concert with others, did commit the crime of larceny therein by allegedly stealing numerous construction tools from within, including, but not limited to a DeWalt drill, drill driver, two 20-volt batteries, jig saw, battery chargers, drywall gun, electric DeWalt sawzaw and two Irwin clamps.
