Greene's Trojans varsity softball  program ends as good as the season began

GREENE – Greene Varsity Softball received end of season accolades from NYSPHSAA (New York State Public High School Athletic Association) for being a top Scholar Athletic Team, ranking 41st in NYS for high school softball teams. This honor is based on the team holding a grade point average of 90.00 or higher. However, this mark was surpassed, as Greene held a team average of 94.81 giving them the 41st highest ranking in the state, as well as the second highest GPA for a softball team in section IV. Brittany Johns and Alyssa Sands were selected as Second Team MAC All-Stars, Maddie Brink was selected as First Team MAC All-Star and team MVP, Abbey Sands was awarded Most Improved, Kathleen Hanrahan was given the Sportsmanship award, while Alex Thompson was named a Scholar Athlete, and Jessica Ketzak was given the Coaches Award. Each team member was recognized for being a Scholar Athletic Team member with a pin from the State Education Department for this honor.
