NORWICH – The Norwich varsity baseball team was hoping to earn that second win of the season on their senior night, however, The Blue Devils had other plans when they limited the hits for the Tornado, winning 6-1, on May 10.

Norwich celebrated their four graduating seniors, Seniors; Jake Walsh, Johnathan Predmore, Nick Murphy and Gabe Gojani, prior to the start of the game.

“They played a lot better than yesterday, I was completely happy with our effort. What it came down to is we just didn’t hit the ball very well,” said Norwich head coach Rich Turnbull.

Norwich played nearly error free baseball, which was much improved from the previous nights loss to Chenango Valley. With the one minor error coming in the first inning, Norwich elected to commit no further errors past that point.

“Our one error came in the first inning and they scored a run on it, but it was nice to play pretty much error free baseball after that one inning,” explained Turnbull. “Fourth inning had 6 guys comes to the plate, but every other inning they only had three or four guys come up to the plate, so we limited base runners for them.”
