SHERBURNE – Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne is giving locals the chance to learn more about climate change and to share ideas on what can be done to minimize their carbon footprint.

Friends of Rogers (FOR) will partner with Hamilton Friends Meeting (Quakers) to sponsor an informational seminar titled “Climate Change in Our Time: Myth or Reality?” The event will be held 10:30 a.m. April 9 at the FOR visitor center off Route 80.

With so much confusion surrounding the issue of climate change, the goal is to clarify the impact of climate change through dialogue and presentation of facts.

“This is a very special program. We feel there should be more dialogue about these things and what can be done,” said FOR Development Coordinator Jessica Moquin. “There’s a lot of confusion out there about climate change. Is it dramatic? Is it not? Are there opportunities to improve it? Can we improve it? This is meant to be an interactive discussion so people can ask those kinds of questions.”
