Above Doug Parry, Deputy Director of the Department of Public Works and Jim Fowlston, supervisor, stand in front of the salt that was purchased for this winter. The season was started with 3,500 tons of salt purchased. To date, 2,000 tons have been used. There are still 3,500 tons on hand. While less salt was used, the contract with the state requires a certain purchase every year.
