Chenango to participate in STOP-DWI crackdown

NORWICH – Chenango County Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Lawrence Wilcox has announced that County police agencies will participate in a special enforcement effort to crackdown on impaired driving.

The statewide STOP-DWI crackdown efforts started Thursday and will end March 20.

St. Patrick’s Day Weekend is historically a deadly period for impaired driving due to the number of drivers on the road. New York State Police, County Sheriff and municipal law enforcement agencies across the state will be out in force in this across-the-board effort to reduce the number of alcohol related injuries and deaths.
