Oxford bowling flourishes in sectional play

VESTAL - The Oxford boys varsity bowling team left Midway Lanes is Vestal last Saturday, Feb. 13, as champions of the Section IV Class D tournament.

Dakota Simpson and Gavin Wheatley became co-champs of the individual title as they tied one another both bowling a tournament high series of 557.

The Blackhawk girls varsity team’s season unfortunately came to a close, but Jourdan Pinney’s performance was a silver lining as she captured the girls’ individual title for the Section IV Class D tournament with an impressive series of 507 pins.

The boy's advanced to the todays State Qualifier held in Norwich at Family Recreation Lanes.

Emily Howard is the lone Oxford girl to advance based on her league average to Saturday's State Qualifier in Norwich.
