Blackhawks Make A Come Back In Bobcat Territory

BAINBRIDGE – The Blackhawks boys varsity basketball team pulled of a win Thursday night over Bainbridge-Guilford on a score line of 37-33.

The Blackhawks came out slow in the first half trailing by 7 going into the third quarter.

Kevin Davis – number 33 and a Blackhawk senior – redeemed himself in the second half of the game after a missed free throw attempt in the first quarter making a 3-point shot that tied the game up.

Davis had 23 points for the night being the leading scorer of the game.

The B-G Bobcats held a very strong first half with their cohesive ball handling. Trevor Halaquist – wearing number 5 for the Bobcats – scored 13 points for the night.

The Bobcats let the lead slip away as the Blackhawks had an 8 basket run pushing them into the lead.

The blackhawks took over 33-28 with 2:13 seconds left on the clock.

Halaquist and Sean Jones – number 20 – of the Bobcats both scored as well as Blackhawks senior Angelo Gonzalez – number 24 – and Davis, both scoring 2 points bringing the final score of the game to the Blackhawks with 37, Bobcats with 33.

Despite their efforts, the Bobcats didn’t keep the Blackhawks at bay.

The Blackhawks play next Tuesday, Jan. 26 against UV at 7:15 p.m.

The Bobcats hit the court Friday, Jan. 29 at home against Sidney at 7.15 p.m.
