Chenango County Wrestling weekend recap

ONEONTA – Bainbridge-Guilford-Afton-Harpursville claimed the top team spot at the 27th annual Ross Cordell Tournament this past Saturday.

This team win, marks the third year in a row that BGAH was able to claim this title as they edged Burnt Hills by almost 20 team points.

Just like they had at the Windsor Christmas Tournament, BGAH only brought 10 wrestlers and still managed the team win.

The Bears featured three stand out wrestlers who all took home first in their respective weight classes; Brody Oleksak at 99, Chris Cirigliano at 113, Madison Hoover at 152.

Cirigliano is now officially ranked fourth in the state at 113 pounds.

BGAH would ultimately have seven wrestlers appear in the finals, including the three mentioned above, with Cody Ferrara 120, Kevin Hubbard 132, Ben Bivar 138, Austn Carr 160 all coming up with losses in the finals to take home second place finishes for BGAH.
