County Basketball Wins Big Over Weekend

SHERBURNE - In a rout against league opponent Canastota, the Sherburne-Earlville girls' varsity basketball team won 70-28.

On Friday, December 18, S-E got another win after hosting Canastota. The visitors kept it close through the first half after a 10-9 first quarter and a 16-12 second quarter, both in favor of S-E.

It wasn't until the third quarter until the Marauders hit their stride. S-E, led again by Lily Berg, put up 31 points in the third quarter and shut out Canastota.

Berg led the team with 21 total points and had a lot of help from the rest of her team. Both Miranda Wright and Savannah Irwin scored 11 on their way to another win.

The fourth quarter ended as S-E scored 13 more to bring their total to 70 on the night.

AFTON - Traveling to Afton on Friday, December 18, the Bainbridge-Guilford boys’ varsity basketball team defeated their neighbors down the road 52-39.
