LAFAYETTE - Traveling to Lafayette on Friday, October 16, the Sherburne-Earlville Maruaders rolled over the home team, winning 28-2.

In the first quarter of the game S-E got things started with a 55 yard run to the end zone from Matt Hull. The S-E defense would keep Lafayette out of the end zone all game long.

The second quarter went much of the same way as the first. Receiver Lincoln Owen caught a Hull pass for 11 yards and the score, while Brodie Roebuck would take another in from four yards, giving S-E a lead of 21-0 over the home team. On defense Matt Hull recorded a school-record four interceptions in the defensive rout of the Lancers. S-E would also finish with seven sacks on the night.

It wasn’t until the third quarter when Lafayette would finally put points on the board, tackling S-E in their own end zone for a safety and ended S-E’s streak of 10 scoreless quarters. The Marauders would bounce back though and score one last time in the third on a 27 yard run by Roebuck to give the game its final score of 28-2.

S-E plays again this Friday, October 23, when they travel to Utica to play Notre Dame.
