Illusionist David Caserta to perform CAC on fall tour

NORWICH – After working relentlessly on something original for his annual show, Haunted Illusions, David Caserta is excited to be the only magician in the country to unveil his new illusion live on stage –cutting hinself in half.

David has always had a fascination with the illusion of cutting a lady in half. “It’s amazing how intrigued the public is with this. Of course, the funny line people say to me all the time is: Can you cut my friend in half?”

“I had been doing a lot of research on that and I didn’t want to present this in the typical fashion. I wanted something truly unique that no other magician was performing. In 1921, a magician invented the sawing a lady in half illusion. He covered his female assistant from head to toe with a wooden box. Finally, he took a saw and cut the box in half. It wasn’t the most amazing trick since his assistant was covered and nobody could see her get cut in half. But, the idea that it left in the audiences mind was the greatest.”

“I’ve always wondered why does the magician have to cover his female assistant. Then I thought, why is the female assistant the one who is cut in half? Why doesn’t the magician cut himself in half?”
