S-E Soccer Splits Games In Sauquiot Tournament

SAUQUIOT - This weekend the Sherburne-Earlville boys soccer team competed in the Sauquiot soccer tournament. In the first round on Friday, October 9, S-E would play against Adirondack and lost 4-1.

Adirondack got out to an early lead off of goals from Dawson Green and Gavin Miriam and an own goal from the S-E defense. As a result of a little confusion in front of the S-E net, the ball was directed into the S-E goal, giving Adriondack a score.

S-E’s lone goal came off of a Kyle Cole shot. Cole received a cross from Tyler Rodriguez who then redirected the ball into the Adriondack net for a goal.

S-E played their next game on Saturday, October 10, in the consolation game against Herkimer.

Individual statistics: S-E; Kyle Cole, 1 goal. Tyler Rodriguez, 1 assist. Thad Karaman, 3 saves. Ben Rinaldo, 5 saves. Adriondack; Dawson Green, 2 goals, 1 assist. Gavin Miriam, 1 goal. Sage Bailey, 5 saves.

Team statistics: S-E; goals, 1. Assists, 1. Saves, 8. Own goals, 1. Adirondack; goals, 3. Assists, 1. Saves, 5.

In the consolation game against Herkimer, S-E would find its grove and win 7-4.

The first half S-E would score five of their seven goals and allow none. Tyler Rodriguez would score three over the course of the game, earning a hat trick.
