Chenango County Soccer Loses On A Rainy Night

AFTON - Yesterday, September 29, Walton traveled to Afton to take on Afton-Harpursville boys' varsity soccer team and won 4-1.

In the first half Walton would score three separate goals to put their team up 3-0. Goals for Walton were scored by Robbie Phraner, Adler Palvik, Noah Rhinehart, and Owen Piper.

In the second half Afton-Harpursville's Troy Mercilliott would score his singular goal of the game. Unfortunately for Afton-Harpursville their comeback stopped there and the final score was set at 4-1.

Individual statistics: Walton; Robbie Phraner, 1 goal. Adler Pavlik, 1 goal. Noah Rhinehart, 1 goal. Owen Piper, 1 goal. Joseph Pomeroy, 8 saves. Afton-Harpursville; Troy Mercilliott, 1 goal. Nate Austin, 7 saves.

Bainbridge-Guilford

DELHI - Last night, Tuesday, September 29, the Bainbridge-Guilford boys' varsity soccer team traveled to Delhi and lost 4-0.

Delhi won in a flurry of offense, totaling 35 shots on the night with just four of them finding the back of the net. Due credit goes to B-G's defense and keeper Shawn Jones for keeping Delhi's offense away from and out of the net as much as they could. Jones tallied 15 saves throughout the course of the game.

For Delhi it was Michael Bryden, Paul Avila, Cody Wamsley, and Kyle Brown who all earned goals for Delhi.
