Man Charged With Attempted Murder Arraigned On Additional Charges, No Additional Bail Set

NORWICH – Wayne Spratley, 33, of Greene was charged with attempted murder in the second degree following a shooting that took place in a parking lot on Lackawanna Avenue in Norwich on Sunday.

The alleged shooter was initially arraigned late Sunday afternoon for the attempted murder charge, and was able to bond out of the Chenango County Correctional Facility on Tuesday.

District Attorney Joesph McBride said in an interview Wednesday that additional charges would be brought against Spratley Thursday morning, and that Spratley would then be arraigned on those charges.

Spratley was arraigned on the charges of criminal use of a firearm in the first degree, a class B felony and assault in the first degree, a class B felony.

No additional bail was set for Spratley. He is to appear again on the fourth Wednesday in August.
